What happened
After four years of mural hunters searching for a jetpack in single player, Rockstar shipped one in December 2017: the Mammoth Thruster, centerpiece of GTA Online's Doomsday Heist, whose finale plays out inside a secret facility built into Mount Chiliad itself. Single-player never got it officially; within weeks a mod ported the Thruster back, bundled, as PC Gamer noted, with its own small easter egg mission.
Why it matters
Whether this was the mural's answer or just Rockstar spending the community's obsession as marketing fuel is exactly the kind of question this iceberg exists to flag rather than settle.
How we know
PC Gamer's coverage documents the Thruster's arrival with The Doomsday Heist and the single-player mod that followed. We note plainly: Rockstar has never said the heist resolves the mural.
